Editing your homepage

To begin editing your homepage, simply enter the URL of one of your favorite websites in the "Address" field, then press "Go". HomePagePal will make an attempt to contact the website, determine the appropriate caption for you, then retrieve a thumbnail preview of the website. The thumbnail preview will then be ready for you to drag and drop onto your homepage.

Website URL's do not always have to be complete URL's. If you want to enter http://www.ebay.com, you can simply type "Ebay" and HomePagePal will do the rest. HomePagePal will add http://, www. and .com to any link that appears to be a website name.

You can change the caption and the thumbnail for each link on your homepage. To change the caption simply enter a new or different caption in the Caption field before dragging it onto you homepage. If you would like a different image for your link, you can upload your own image from the Options menu.

Sometimes HomePagePal will not have an image to match a particular website. This is simply because even though HomePagePal has thousands upon thousands of thumbnail previews, there are millions upon millions of websites out there. In the event there is no image to match a website you have dropped onto your homepage, HomePagePal will place the website into our capture queue, and a screenshot will be taken within 5 to 7 minutes. Once the server captures a screenshot of the website, your link will update automatically without you having to re-enter the link.
